General information

I am a convinced member of the Centre Party. I find that every person who feels that he or she is an Estonian resident must find his or her place and receive a decent salary or pension in our country. The state must be tolerant towards all its subjects, regardless of their nationality, religion or other personal characteristics. In foreign policy, we must look for common interests with all our neighbours.

I am a native of Tallinn – it is my place of birth, I went to school and to the institute here, and I have spent the majority of my working years here. It was here that I entered politics: I was elected a member of Tallinn City Council for the first time in 1993, when I was a "free lord" on the list of Raeklubi. A year later I joined the Estonian Centre Party, and I have stood as a candidate in the colours of this political party in all the following elections at all levels. I have not betrayed, I have endured pressure and attacks. So that, in my jubilee year, I can boldly look the people in the eye. I have done what I have believed in. And if anything has remained undone, there is still time to try to do it.
