I was born and grew up in Järvamaa (Järva County) like many of my ancestors on my father’s side. For the last 12 years I have been involved in developing the life in Järvamaa as a member of the City Council of Paide, as the Mayor of Koigi Rural Municipality, and during the last years, also as the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Municipalities Järva County. By my world view, I am a Liberal. Since 2001, I have been a member of the Estonian Reform Party, during that time I have led two regional organisations and the county organisation of Järvamaa.
