General information
I come from East-Viru County. After graduating from the university, I worked nearly 20 years in Rapla County, but since the end of 2005, I have been back in my home region. I was the rural municipality mayor of Mäetaguse for ten years, and the rural municipality mayor of Jõhvi for nearly two years. I have also been a member of Mäetaguse Rural Municipality Council, and at present I am the member of Jõhvi Rural Municipality Council. I have been active in local political life since the beginning of 1994, so that I am familiar with those problems. One of my aims is to ensure that the local governments are given greater decision-making rights and financial freedom. I am for as much freedom as possible. People should have the right to make decisions on the things that concern them, and the state should guarantee that right and not try to make decisions for the people.
