Today, the National Defence Committee of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) elected Peeter Tali as the Chairman of the Committee. Leo Kunnas. will continue as the Deputy Chairman of the National Defence Committee.
The extraordinary elections of the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the National Defence Committee were brought about by the transfer of Kalev Stoicescu to the Rural Affairs Committee. According to the Riigikogu Rules of Procedure and Internal Rules Act, the chair and deputy chair of a committee are elected simultaneously.
In addition to Tali and Kunnas, the National Defence Committee includes Raimond Kaljulaid, Meelis Kiili, Kristo Enn Vaga, Enn Eesmaa, Vladimir Arhipov, Alar Laneman, Mati Raidma, Priit Sibul, Õnne Pillak and Toomas Uibo.
