The UNIC is welcomed in the Verkhovna Rada by the Co-Chair of the UNIC and First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Kornyenko<\/strong>. The head of the delegation, Co-Chair of UNIC Marko Mihkelson<\/strong> delivers the introductory remarks.<\/p>\n

The visit is dedicated to discussing the reform aspirations in Ukraine, including leadership in the defence sector and defence procurements, parliamentary scrutiny and corruption prevention. Other topics include strategic and operational lessons of the war, military innovations, and development of Ukraine\u2019s defence industry, including opportunities for cooperation with NATO countries. Representatives of Ukrainian armed forces and defence industry will also take part in the discussions.<\/p>\n

The delegation of the UNIC will discuss the protection of the critical infrastructure and enhancing societal resilience with the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Mykola Kalashnyk<\/strong>. The delegation will also meet the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Mischenko<\/strong> and the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for European Integration Anatolii Kutsevol<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The delegation headed by Mihkelson includes the Vice-Presidents of the NATO PA Alberto Losacco<\/strong> and Mikko Savola<\/strong>, as well as members of the UNIC from the parliaments of Czechia, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, Portugal, Slovakia, T\u00fcrkiye, and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

After the end of the UNIC visit, Mihkelson will take part of the annual Yalta European Strategy forum along with Members of the Riigikogu Eerik-Niiles Kross<\/strong> and Mati Raidma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
