Three Bills were rejected at first reading
At today’s sitting, the Riigikogu rejected three Bills at the first reading.
1) On the motion of the Constitutional Committee as the leading committee, the Bill on Amendments to § 36 of the Security Authorities Act (231 SE), initiated by Member of the Riigikogu Karel Rüütli, was rejected at the first reading with 48 votes in favour. 32 members of the Riigikogu voted against the motion of the Committee, nobody abstained.
2) On the motion of the Finance Committee as the leading committee, the Bill on Amendments to the Income Tax Act (270 SE), initiated by the Estonian Green Party Faction, was rejected with 39 votes in favour. 15 members of the Riigikogu voted against the motion of the Committee and 2 members of the Riigikogu abstained.
3) On the motion of the Finance Committee as the leading committee, the Bill on Amendments to § 91 of the State Budget Act (277 SE), initiated by the Estonian People’s Union Faction, was rejected with 36 votes in favour. 30 members of the Riigikogu voted against the motion of the Committee, nobody abstained.
Thus, all the abovementioned Bills were withdrawn from the legislative proceeding.
