The Bills on the formation of three Select Committees passed the first reading at the Riigikogu sitting.

 

The Draft Resolution of the Riigikogu On the Formation of the Select Committee on the Application of the Anti-corruption Act (13 OE) provides for the appointment to the Committee of the following members: Kaia Iva, Aleksei Lotman, Jaanus Marrandi, Tatjana Muravjova, Kadri Must and Helju Pikhof. Their alternate members are Ken-Marti Vaher, Maret Merisaar, Mai Treial, Taavi Rõivas, Aivar Riisalu and Mark Soosaar. The Committee’s duties include collecting declarations of economic interests of officials, depositing them and checking their conformity with reality; As well as supervising the restrictions to the employment and activities of the members of the Riigikogu.

The Draft Resolution of the Riigikogu On the Formation of the Security Authorities Surveillance Committee of the Riigikogu (14 OE) provides for the appointment to the Committee of the following members: Jaanus Rahumägi, Villu Reiljan, Ain Seppik, Marek Strandberg, Kalvi Kõva and Mart Laar. Their alternate members are Rain Rosimannus, Karel Rüütli, Kalle Laanet, Valdur Lahtvee, Eiki Nestor and Peeter Tulviste. The task of the Committee is to exercise supervision over the activities of security authorities and surveillance agencies.

The Draft Resolution of the Riigikogu On the Formation of the State Budget Control Committee of the Riigikogu (15 OE) provides for the appointment to the Committee of the following members: Tõnis Kõiv, Hannes Rumm, Tarmo Mänd, Toomas Trapido, Ken-Marti Vaher and Toomas Varek. Their alternate members are Hannes Astok, Indrek Saar, Ester Tuiksoo, Mart Jüssi, Toomas Tõniste and Tiit Kuusmik. The tasks of the Committee include reviewing the consolidated report of the state economic year and the relevant auditor’s report and reviewing issues concerning auditing of the public sector.

The second reading of the Bills will take place at tomorrow’s sitting.

At Question Time Minister of Regional Affairs Vallo Reimaa answered the questions about the regional administration, the creation of endowement of the civil society, the institution of county governments and the further development of information technology in public sector. Minister of Social Affairs Maret Maripuu answered the questions about the liability mechanism of health care, the reform of the price list of the Health Insurance Fund, the policy of medicines, the normalization of the quality of life in the Lasnamäe region and the investments into county hospitals. Minister of Finance Ivari Padar answered the questions about the compensation for the damage caused by the unrest.
