The Riigikogu passed with 65 votes in favour the Feedingstuffs Act (1038 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The Act stipulates requirements for feedingstuffs, for their handling and use, and for the organisation of state supervision over the conformity of feedingstuffs with safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of feedingstuffs to the health of people and animals and to the environment, as well as their favourable impact on animals and animal products. The Act enters into force on 1 February 2007, § 44 of the Act enters into force on 1 July 2007. 1 member of the Riigikogu voted against the Act and 3 members of the Riigikogu abstained.
