The Riigikogu passed with 81 votes in favour the Official Statistics Act Amendment Act (61 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The amendments to the Act concern the precept to eliminate a violation applicable in case of failure to submit data or submission of distorted data collected through national statistical surveys. The Statistical Office and the Bank of Estonia have the right to issue the precept. Nobody voted against the Act and nobody abstained.

The Riigikogu passed with 82 votes in favour the Traffic Act and Wages Act Amendment Act (42 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The amendments made to the Traffic Act are connected with the need to bring it into conformity with the new European Union legislation aimed at improving traffic safety and social guarantees to motorists, as well as ensuring equal competition between carriers. A new section was added to the Traffic Act. It establishes the obligations of drivers of motor vehicles and passengers when the vehicle is stopped by the inspector. Amendments were also made to several sections stipulating the fines for violating the requirements established for drivers of motor vehicles. Amendment made to the Wages Act is connected with the calculation and payment of the salaries of drivers of motor vehicles according to the regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council. Nobody voted against the Act, one member of the Riigikogu abstained.

On the motion of the Finance Committee as the leading committee, the Bill on Amendments to § 32 of the Income Tax Act (18 SE), initiated by the Estonian People’s Union Faction, was rejected at the first reading. 41 members of the Riigikogu voted in favour of the motion and 35 against it, nobody abstained. The Bill was withdrawn from legislative proceeding.

On the motion of the Finance Committee as the leading committee, the Bill on Amendments to the Income Tax Act (19 SE), initiated by the Estonian Centre Party Faction, was rejected at the first reading. 40 members of the Riigikogu voted in favour of the motion and 35 against it, nobody abstained. The Bill was withdrawn from legislative proceeding.
