On the motion of the Legal Affairs Committee, the Riigikogu rejected at the first reading the Bill on Amendments to the Penal Code (872 SE), initiated by Robert Lepikson.

Pursuant to the Bill, secret recording of private conversations, data communication sessions, parties or other similar events would have become punishable.

33 members of the Riigikogu were in favour of the motion of the Committee not to conclude the first reading of the Bill, 30 were against it.
