The Riigikogu concluded the second reading of the Bill on Amendments to § 76 of the Strategic Goods Act and § 9 of the Surveillance Act (148 SE), initiated by the National Defence Committee. The aim of the Bill is to ensure the performance of the prescribed duties of the Strategic Goods Commission operating within the area of government of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the same time, a relevant strategic goods control system will be established. For this purpose, the Strategic Goods Act and the Surveillance Act are brought into conformity with each other, and the terminology of the Acts is also harmonised. 

On the motion of the Legal Affairs Committee, the Riigikogu rejected the Bill on Amendments to the Rescue Service Act (107 SE), initiated by the Social Democratic Party Faction, at the first reading. The result of voting: 46 votes in favour, 35 against. The Bill was dropped from the legislative proceeding.
