On the motion of the Economic Affairs Committee, the Riigikogu did not pass the Draft Resolution of the Riigikogu “Making a Proposal to the Government of the Republic to Prepare a Strategy and a Programme of Action for Stimulating the Economy of the Country for 2009–2013” (555 OE), submitted by the Estonian Centre Party Faction. 38 members of the Riigikogu supported the passage of the Resolution, 44 were against and one member abstained.

 

On the motion of the Constitutional Committee, the Draft Resolution of the Riigikogu “Formation of the Riigikogu Committee of Investigation to Ascertain the Reasons for the Sinking of the Ferry Estonia and the Related Circumstances for International Parliamentary Cooperation” (552 OE), submitted by the Estonian Centre Party Faction, was rejected at the first reading (42 votes in favour, 30 votes against, 2 abstentions).

 

On the motion of the Estonian Reform Party Faction and the Pro Patria and Res Publica Union Faction, the Riigikogu rejected (44 votes in favour, 35 votes against) the Bill on Amendments to the Local Taxes Act (546 SE), initiated by the Social Democratic Party Faction.
