Riigikogu did not agree with Chancellor of Justice
At today’s extraordinary session, the Riigikogu did not agree with the proposal from the Chancellor of Justice to bring the sections concerning value added tax in the Act relating to the supplementary budget into conformity with the Constitution. 41 members of the Riigikogu voted in favour of the proposal from the Chancellor of Justice and 49 members were against, one member abstained.
The Riigikogu heard the reports by Chancellor of Justice Indrek Teder, Chairman of the Constitutional Committee Väino Linde and Chairman of the Finance Committee Taavi Rõivas. Many questions were asked of the presenters and the Members of the Riigikogu participated actively in the debate.
Alternate members Robert Antropov and Georg Pelisaar took the oath of office before the Riigikogu today.
The sitting which began at 3 p.m. ended at 6.22 p.m.
