President of the Bank of Estonia Vahur Kraft gave an overview of the economic activities of the Bank of Estonia in 2002.

Chairman of the Management Board Andres Trink of the Financial Supervision Authority made a report of the Financial Supervision Authority in 2002.

Having heard the overview of the economic activities of the Bank of Estonia in 2002 and the report of 2002 of the Financial Supervision Authority, the Riigikogu, on the motion of the Finance Committee as leading committee, concluded the first reading of the Draft Resolution On the Approval of the 2002 Report of the Bank of Estonia (43 OE), submitted by the Finance Committee. Motions to amend are to be submitted to the leading committee by today, 27 May, 14.00.

On the motion of the Finance Committee as leading committee the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to § 163 of the Taxation Act (163 SE), initiated by the same Committee, was concluded. Motions to amend are to be submitted to the leading committee by 28 May, 12.00.

On the motion of the Social Affairs Committee as leading committee the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the Social Welfare Act (67 SE), initiated by the same Committee, was concluded. Motions to amend are to be submitted to the leading committee by 29 May, 12.00.

The Riigikogu passed with 63 votes in favour the Resolution On the Appointment of Members of the Supervisory Board of the State Forest Management Centre (50 OE), submitted by the Environment Committee. Küllo Arjakas and Rein Randver were appointed as the members of the Supervisory Board of the State Forest Management Centre. Nobody voted against the resolution and nobody abstained.

On the motion of the Social Affairs Committee as leading committee the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the State Family Benefits Act (33 SE), initiated by the Mõõdukad Faction, was concluded. Motions to amend are to be submitted to the leading committee by 2 June, 12.00.

On the motion of the Social Affairs Committee as leading committee the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the Social Welfare Act (19 SE), initiated by the Isamaaliit Faction, was concluded. Motions to amend are to be submitted to the leading committee by 29 May, 12.00.
