The Riigikogu passed with 26 votes in favour (17 votes against, 11 abstentions) the Resolution of the Riigikogu On the Formation of the Committee of Investigation to Ascertain the Circumstances related to the Export of Military Equipment from the Territory of the Republic of Estonia on the Ferry Estonia in 1994 (608 OE), submitted by the Estonian Centre Party Faction. According to the Resolution, a committee will be formed including Evelin Sepp, Jarno Laur, Ken-Marti Vaher, Trivimi Velliste, Margus Leivo and Ülle Rajasalu. The purpose of the committee is to give an objective and impartial analysis of the circumstances related to the export of military equipment on the ferry Estonia and to provide an assessment.
On the motion of the Constitutional Committee the second reading of the Bill on Amendments to the European Parliament Election Act, Local Government Council Election Act and Riigikogu Election Act (620 SE), initiated by Members of the Riigikogu Jarno Laur, Koit Prants, Mart Nutt, Jaanus Marrandi and Ela Tomson, was suspended.
On the motion of the Finance Committee, the Riigikogu rejected from the legislative proceeding the Bill on Amendments to § 6 of the Social Tax Act (602 SE), initiated by the Social Democratic Party Faction. 38 members of the Riigikogu voted in favour of the rejection of the Bill and 18 members of the Riigikogu against it.
