The Riigikogu heard the overview of the situation in research and development activities given by Prime Minister Juhan Parts. During the debate Member of the Riigikogu Tõnis Lukas took the floor.

The Riigikogu concluded the first reading of the following Bills:

The Investment Funds Bill (289 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The term for submission of motions to amend to the Finance Committee is 22 March, 17.00.

The Funded Pensions Bill (290 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The term for submission of motions to amend to the Finance Committee is 22 March, 17.00.

The Bill on Amendments to the Official Statistics Act (255 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The term for submission of motions to amend to the Economic Affairs Committee is 23 March, 12.00.

The Customs Bill (280 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The term for submission of motions to amend to the Economic Affairs Committee is 23 March, 12.00.

The first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the Elections Acts and Referendum Act to Impose Restrictions on the Expenses of Political Advertising and Election Campaigns (234 SE), initiated by the Isamaaliit Faction, was suspended due to the end of the working hours of the sitting. The reading is resumed at tomorrow?s sitting.
