The Riigikogu passed with 56 votes in favour the Fishing Act Amendment Act (1248 SE), initiated by Members of the Riigikogu Kalev Kotkas, Vootele Hansen and Vambo Kaal.

The aim of the amendment is to more precisely regulate the procedure for the distribution of fishing rights between the applicants in case of limited fishing possibilities. The Act enters into force on the following day after its publication in the Riigi Teataja. Nobody voted against the Act and nobody abstained.

On the motion of the Constitutional Committee as leading committee the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the Public and National Holidays Act (1218 SE), initiated by Member of the Riigikogu Enn Tarto, was concluded. Motions to amend are to be submitted to the leading committee by 30 January, 12.00.
