The purpose of the Act is to regulate the matters related to the financing of political parties. The Act also reduces restrictions regarding the membership to a political party. 10 members of the Riigikogu voted against the Act, nobody abstained.

Father Christmas visited the Riigikogu, who wished the members of the Riigikogu Merry Christmas and dynamic atmosphere for the New Year. Father Christmas stressed that the representatives of the people should actively visit their electoral districts, and if they can see slippers on the window sill, they should always put something into whenever they see stockings hanging.
