Bill on Amendments to Strategic Goods Act and Surveillance Act passed first reading
On the motion of the National Defence Committee, the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to § 76 of the Strategic Goods Act and § 9 of the Surveillance Act, initiated by the same Committee, was concluded. The purpose of the amendments is to ensure the performance of the duties of the Strategic Goods Commission operating within the area of administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the same time, a relevant strategic goods control system will be established. In this Act, the Strategic Goods Act is brought into conformity with the Surveillance Act, and the terminology of the Acts is also harmonised.
The Estonian Centre Party Faction and the Social Democratic Party Faction as initiators withdrew from the legislative proceeding the Bill on Amendments to the Police and Border Guard Act (136 SE), initiated on 17 November 2011.
