At Question Time ministers answered the questions of the members of the Riigikogu.
Prime Minister Juhan Parts answered the question of Kaarel Pürg about the supplementary budget, the question of Tõnis Lukas about the implementation of the Social Welfare Act, the question of Andres Tarand about amendments to the Government of the Republic Act and the question of Siiri Oviir about pensions.
Minister of Internal Affairs Margus Leivo answered the question of Ain Seppik about the administrative reform, the question of Kadi Pärnits about the organization of work of the Ministry and the question of Olev Laanjärv about the municipal police.
Minister Paul-Eerik Rummo answered the question of Peep Aru about the performance of duties proceeding from the Coalition Agreement, the question of Mark Soosaar about the participation of different nations in building up the state of Estonia, the question of Leino Mägi about the financing of integration projects and the question of Raivo Järvi about rendering assistance to national cultural societies by the state.
The Riigikogu deliberated the following items on the agenda:
The Resolution of the Riigikogu On Amendments to the Resolution of the Riigikogu On the Formation of the Select Committee on the Application of Anti-corruption Act (36 OE), initiated by the Constitutional Committee, was passed with 52 votes in favour. The Resolution provides that the Select Committee will be formed in the following composition: Avo Üprus (alternate member Siim-Valmar Kiisler), Eiki Nestor (alternate member Kadi Pärnits), Evelyn Sepp (alternate member Harri Õunapuu), Leino Mägi (alternate member Silver Meikar), Margi Ein (alternate member Koit Prants) and Trivimi Velliste (alternate member Andres Herkel).
Proposal from the Legal Chancellor to bring the Social Welfare Act into conformity with the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia was adopted with 59 votes in favour. The task to initiate the relevant Bill was assigned to the Social Affairs Committee.
Proposal from the Legal Chancellor to bring subsection 163 (2) of the Taxation Act, entered into force on January 1, 2003, into conformity with the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia, was adopted with 52 votes in favour (1 abstention). The task to initiate the relevant Bill was assigned to the Finance Committee.
It was decided to conclude the first reading of the Draft Resolution of the Riigikogu On the Use of the Estonian Defence Forces Units in Performance of International Duties of the Estonian State under the International Security Assistance Mission in Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq (11 OE), initiated by the Government of the Republic. The term for submission of motions to amend is 5 May, 10.00.
