The agenda of the extraordinary session, convened on the motion of 36 members of the Riigikogu, included the resumption of the second reading of the Bill on Amendments to the Social Welfare Act (67 SE), initiated by the Social Affairs Committee. Chairperson of the Social Affairs Committee Mai Treial made a report. The debates were held in the course of which Minister of Social Affairs Marko Pomerants and Members of the Riigikogu Vilja Savisaar, Tõnis Lukas, Eiki Nestor, Taavi Veskimägi, Peeter Tulviste, Silver Meikar, Siiri Oviir, Jaanus Männik, Peep Aru and Mailis Rand took the floor.

The Social Affairs Committee as leading committee moved to suspend the second reading of the Bill. The term for submission of motions to amend to the Social Affairs Committee is 5 August, 12.00.
