Riigikogu

On 23 April 1919, the first representative body elected by the people – the Constituent Assembly – convened in Estonia. It made many decisions that laid the foundation for our state. Every year, the Riigikogu celebrates that event with an Open House Day when you can have a look at the work of the parliament, the architecture of Toompea Castle, the working rooms of the President of the Riigikogu, and other official rooms of the Castle.

10.45 a.m. Musical greeting from the castle balcony, doors open

10.50 a.m. Greeting by the President of the Riigikogu

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Guided tours in the Castle, visits to the Tall Hermann tower

(11.30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. NUKU tours in the Castle)

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Meetings with members of the Riigikogu in factions

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Coffee and chat with members of the Riigikogu in the café

12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Question Time in the Riigikogu Session Hall. Members of the Government answer the questions of the people

12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. Play “Little Briar Rose” (5+) in the Exhibition Hall

12.30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Play “Gelsomina´s circus” (7+) in the Conference Hall

1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Quiz “25 Years from the Restoration of Independence” in the White Hall

2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Coffee and chat with members of the Riigikogu in the café

3 p.m. – 4 p.m. Good Mood Concert in the White Hall. Performers: Choir and actors from NUKU Theatre
