Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Parliament of Lithuania the Seimas, arrived today on a two-day visit to Estonia.
This morning she will meet with President of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) Jüri Ratas at Toompea. The meeting will also be attended by Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu Marko Mihkelson and Head of the Estonian Delegation to the Baltic Assembly Aadu Must.
After that, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen will meet with the President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid in Kadriorg.
In the afternoon, the Speaker of the Parliament of Lithuania will have a meeting with Vice-President of the Riigikogu Hanno Pevkur. Head of the Estonian delegation to the Baltic Assembly Aadu Must and Deputy Chair of the European Union Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu Riina Sikkut will participate in the meeting.
The Speaker of the Seimas will also meet with Chairman of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Estonia-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Riigikogu Erki Savisaar, Deputy Chair of the Social Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu Helmen Kütt, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Research Mart Laidmets.
The Speaker of the Seimas will visit the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, where she will be given a tour of the exhibition “Introduction to Estonian Design”, and after that, she will meet with the representatives of the Lithuanian community in Estonia.
On Tuesday, President of the Riigikogu Jüri Ratas and Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen will lay flowers at the Memorial to Victims of Communism at Maarjamäe and on the grave of chess champion Paul Keres at Metsakalmistu cemetery.
