Riigikogu

Today at 1 p.m., presentation of the new issue of Riigikogu Toimetised (RiTo) will take place in the Riigikogu Exhibition Hall. The latest RiTo focuses on the security situation in Estonia.

Chairman of the Security Authorities Surveillance Select Committee Raivo Aeg, chairman of the National Defence Committee Hannes Hanso, member of the National Defence Committee Ants Laaneots and Head of the International Centre for Defence and Security Sven Sakkov participate in the panel discussion at the presentation of the new issue. The panel will be led by Editor-in-Chief of RiTo Mart Raudsaar. The presentation will be broadcast online.

In the new RiTo, Sven Sakkov writes that the Estonian foreign policy can have only two great and important topics – security of the country and supporting of export.

The article by Commandant of Estonian National Defence College Enno Mõts gives an overview of the impact the development of technology has on warfare in the future. Member of the National Defence Committee Ants Laaneots tells about the birth and development of the national defence of Estonia in 1991–2017. The translated articles deal with the nuclear age, and how Russia leads political war in Europe.

Besides security issues, RiTo also contains articles on the recent local elections, and analyses how the 16–17-year-old young people used the possibility to participate in the local elections of Estonia for the first time.

Beginning with the 36th issue of RiTo, the whole texts and illustrations of the journal are immediately available on its website. All earlier issues can be read there, too.

In Tallinn, the journal can be bought at “Rahva Raamat” bookshop in Viru Centre, the Estonian National Library and the Parliament Shop at Toompea. In Tartu, RiTo is sold at the bookshop of the University of Tartu. RiTo is also available at the web shop of the National Library. The journal can be subscribed to on the new web page of RiTo.
