Ten standing committees elected their chairmen and deputy chairmen today.

Rainer Vakra became the Chairman and Rein Ratas the Deputy Chairman of the Environment Committee.

Laine Randjärv became the Chairman and Aadu Must the Deputy Chairman of the Cultural Affairs Committee.

Ivari Padar became the Chairman and Siret Kotka the Deputy Chairman of the Rural Affairs Committee.

Toomas Kivimägi became the Chairman and Mihhail Korb the Deputy Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee.

Kalle Laanet became the Chairman and Jüri Adams the Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Committee.

Remo Holsmer became the Chairman and Tarmo Tamm the Deputy Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Marko Mihkelson became the Chairman and Mart Helme the Deputy Chairman of the National Defence Committee.

Aivar Kokk became the Chairman and Monika Haukanõmm the Deputy Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee.

Hannes Hanso became the Chairman and Enn Eesmaa the Deputy Chairman of the Environment Committee.

Heljo Pikhof became the Chairman and Uno Kaskpeit the Deputy Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee.

The membership list as well as the chairman and the deputy chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee (EUAC) will be determined at a later date. Under the Riigikogu Rules of Procedure and Internal Rules Act, EUAC must have at least 15 members, including at least one member from each of the standing committees.

Select committees are formed after the Riigikogu has passed the relevant resolutions. The previous Riigikogu had Security Authorities Surveillance Committee, Anti-Corruption Select Committee and State Budget Control Select Committee.
