Baltic Assembly will celebrate its 25th anniversary
Vice-President of the Riigikogu Helir-Valdor Seeder, and Deputy Chairman of the Cultural Affairs Committee Aadu Must will participate at the sitting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly (BA) in Riga today. The Presidium will discuss the activities related to the 25th anniversary of the BA, as well as Estonia’s presidency of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers beginning from 2017.
The Head of the Estonian delegation to the Baltic Assembly Helir-Valdor Seeder said that the Riigikogu is organising a number of events to mark the occasion, and is seriously preparing for the presidency.
“Estonia’s presidency will focus on topics of strategic importance which have a practical impact on every country individually, and on the region as a whole. One priority of Estonia’s presidency is, for example, searching smart solutions in education, innovation and research,” Seeder said.
The 25th anniversary of the BA will be marked by a special postage stamp, a stamp block, and a first day cover, which will be presented in the Exhibition Hall of the Riigikogu on November (8.
The three Baltic states have also collaborated in making a historical documentary.
A video competition for the Baltic and Nordic youth “Neighbours in the North: I Am Nordic-Baltic!” will run until October 3. The winners will be announced by the end of October.
