Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) and Head of the Estonian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Marko Mihkelson is on a visit to the United States with the delegation of the Defence and Security Committee of the NATO PA.
In Washington, the delegation will meet with the representatives of the Department of State and the Department of Defense and participate in a panel discussion on security at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
The Defence and Security Committee also plans to visit the naval base in Charleston and the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy and named after the Battle of Yorktown.
They will also visit the Boeing 787 Dreamliner assembly site and the Military College of South Carolina.
