The Riigikogu approved with 49 votes in favour the Act on the Accession to the Additional Protocol to the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption (833 SE), initiated by the Government.

The Act provides for accession to the Additional Protocol to the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption concerning the criminalisation of the bribery of arbitrators and jurors. The taking of a bribe by these persons, as well as the giving of a bribe to them are punishable under Estonian law. The accession to the Additional Protocol is significant primarily from the aspect of international cooperation and it serves to meet the recommendation of the Group of States against Corruption of Council of Europe countries (GRECO) to the Republic of Estonia.
