Innovation conference for the decision makers: role for the government
This innovation conference was designed for the shapers of the Estonian innovation policy, with international experts of the field of innovation sharing their visions.
The focus of the innovation conference was on the role of the government in innovation policy, experiences of technology transfer and commercialisation in universities, converting R&D into economic benefits, ecosystems that support innovation, and the specific case of promoting innovation in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.
No country, unless it has oil, has reached the club of prosperous countries without a knowledge intensive and high-tech business sector. Innovation policy plays a key role in this. Estonia does not have oil. Our innovation policy needs a strategic approach, and we had the opportunity to ask the best players in the field – how did they do it?
