Mihkelson will discuss EU enlargement and strengthening democracy in Moldova

Tomorrow, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) Marko Mihkelson will attend a high-level forum “Shared Future: Moldova and the Global Democracy Agenda” in Chișinău, Moldova, where he will speak at a panel discussion highlighting the importance of independent press.

Mihkelson will join journalists and experts from Germany, Moldova and Slovakia in a panel discussion that will focus on independent journalism as a foundation of democracy. In addition to strengthening democracy, the forum will address the experiences of Central and Eastern European countries in the European integration process, as well as cooperation between Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine in the areas of connectivity, energy and regional resilience.

Today, Mihkelson will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Mihai Popșoi in Chișinău. Tomorrow he will have a meeting with Doina Gherman, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Parliament of Moldova.
