The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu Marko Mihkelson is taking part in the meeting of the chairmen of the foreign affairs committees of the Nordic Countries and Baltic States (NB 8) in Riga.
Mihkelson listed three broader topics for the Riga meeting. “We will discuss security in the Baltic Sea region, Nord Stream 2 project, and transatlantic relations,” Mihkelson said before the meeting.
Mihkelson highlighted the importance of the cooperation between the countries to make our voice stronger together. “Before the NATO Summit in July, we are coordinating our security messages. At the same time, this is the right moment to make all the efforts to keep the allied relations between Europe and the US unchanged despite the threat of a trade war,” Mihkelson said.
The purpose of the regular meetings of the Nordic and Baltic chairmen of the foreign affairs committees is to discuss the current regional and international topics.
