The President of the Riigikogu Lauri Hussar is taking part in the Three Seas Summit in Dubrovnik, Croatia, to discuss improving transport and digital connections as well as strengthening energy security in the changed security situation.

Today, Hussar will speak at the plenary discussion, highlighting the importance of connectivity in the region, including the need to consider infrastructure investments as part of deterrence and defence. Before and after the plenary discussion, Hussar takes part in the Three Seas Business Forum, discussing improving connectivity, security situation in Europe, and the aspiration of strengthening the voice of the Nordic countries within the Three Seas Initiative. He will also talk about digitalisation and the options for the use of AI.

The Three Seas Initiative is a regional cooperation format uniting 13 European Union Member States between the Adriatic, the Baltic, and the Black Sea. Its strategic partners are the European Commission, Germany, Japan, Spain, Türkiye, and the United States of America, and its regional partners are Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, and Ukraine. The Initiative was born in 2015 out of the wish to develop the energy, transport, and digital connections on the North-South axis of the European Union.
