Eiki Nestor, the President of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia), will participate in the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in New York. The Conference is convened by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). During his visit to the USA, he will also meet with the Honorary Consul of Estonia and the Estonian community in Boston.

The Conference of Speakers will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The overall theme of the Conference will focus on using democracy for peace and sustainable development. Eiki Nestor will make a speech at the Conference on 1 September.

In Boston, Nestor will meet with the Honorary Consul of Estonia Anne-Reet Annunziata and the local Estonian community. The President of the Riigikogu will give an overview of the Estonian parliamentary elections of this spring and their results.

Nestor’s visit will last from 31 August to 5 September.
