Career: Valga railway depot 1975; S. M. Kirov Collective Farm 1978‒1991; entrepreneur 1991–1994, 1997–2009, 2011–2016; Mayor of Maardu 1995–1996, 2016–2024, Deputy Mayor 2010, 2014‒2016.

Party affiliation: Estonian People’s Union 2002–2008; Estonian Centre Party 2008–.

Membership in representative bodies: 14th Riigikogu (declined mandate), 15th Riigikogu 2024–;

Hobbies: fishing, sports, music.
