Foreign Affairs Committee: Estonia and the European Union must support a joint operation by the United States and Israel in Iran

Today, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu held an extraordinary sitting, where it expressed the opinion that Estonia and the European Union must support the joint operation of the United States and Israel in Iran. Iran has supported Russia in its war against Ukraine and, more broadly, against Europe. Therefore, the joint operation of the US and Israel is also of great importance to European security.

The Foreign Affairs Committee also called on the citizens of Estonia in the Middle East to register themselves on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, if necessary, contact [email protected] or call the 24-hour emergency hotline +372 5301 9999.

At today’s extraordinary sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna gave an overview of the upcoming extraordinary video meeting of the European Union foreign ministers, where the situation in the Middle East will be discussed.
