Select Committee on the Supervision of Security Activities (29.04.1999)
The Select Committee has been formed to exercise supervisory control over the lawfulness of the activities and investigation operations of the Security Police. The Committee reviews the Security Police Administration activities for their conformity with the Republic of Estonia Constitution, the Surveillance Act, the Act on the Procedure for Registration and Making Public of Persons Having Served in or Collaborated with Security Organs or Intelligence or Counter-intelligence Services of the Armed Forces of States that Formerly Occupied Estonia, the State Secrets Act and other legislation. The Committee also reviews the Police Administration, the Border Guard Administration, the General Staff of the Defence Forces, the Estonian Prison Board and the Customs Board activities for their conformity with the Surveillance Act.
The authority of the Committee members terminates upon termination of the authority of the present membership of the Riigikogu.

Select Committee on the Application of Anti-Corruption Act

The objective of the activities of the Select Committee is to discharge duties arising from the Anti-Corruption Act and to promote the universal implementation of measures for preventing corruption. The Committee is the depository of economic interests' declarations. According to the Anti-Corruption Act, members of the Riigikogu, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister, the President of the Republic, the President of the Bank of Estonia and the Auditor General submit to the Committee a declaration of economic interests.
The authority of the Committee members terminates upon termination of the authority of the present membership of the Riigikogu.

It is the duty of the Committee to contribute at the parliamentary level to the achievement of the objectives of the association established on the basis of the Europe Agreement, to co-operate regularly with the Government of the Republic in order to achieve the association objectives, to maintain contacts with the European Parliament and represent the Riigikogu in the Joint Parliamentary Committee, to maintain contacts with other institutions of the European Union, to inform the Riigikogu of its activities in the Joint Parliamentary Committee and issues brought forward therein.
