Parliamentary groups are established in order to intensify bilateral communication with parliaments of other states. The activity of parliamentary groups is aimed at achieving foreign policy objectives of the Republic of Estonia and introducing Estonia abroad.
A parliamentary group is established at a foundation meeting convened on the initiative of a Member of the Riigikogu, the number of members is unlimited. Parliamentary groups are registered by the board of the Estonian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
