The Riigikogu concluded the second reading of two Bills:
 
The Bill on Amendments to the Public and National Holidays Act (582 SE), initiated by the Estonian Green Party Faction, provides that the Grandparents’ Day, celebrated on the second Sunday of September, be included in the list of national holidays.
 
The Bill on Amendments to the Identity Documents Act (609 SE), initiated by the Government, specifies the procedure for issue and return of diplomatic passports and provides the responsibilities in the use of diplomatic passports. It also extends the circle of the persons who have the right to receive an identity card through a consular agent of Estonia.
 
TheRiigikogu concluded the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure and Amendments to Other Associated Acts (599 SE), initiated by the Government. The Bill improves the efficiency and economicity of criminal proceedings. It also has a greater conformity with the fundamental rights of the persons concerned with the proceedings. Several amendments contained in the Bill are motivated by an intention to ensure a greater consistency of the norms regulating the different categories of court proceedings. The Bill enhances the confidence of the citizens in the current legal order and system of administration of justice.
