On the motion of the Social Affairs Committee, the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to § 22² of the Social Welfare Act (639 SE), initiated by the Social Democratic Party Faction, was concluded. In the words of the initiators, the Bill aims at keeping the separation of the child benefit paid on the basis of the State Family Benefits Act, and the subsistence benefit. The Bill is intended to put an end to the situation where applicants for the subsistence benefit are deprived of the child benefit. The Bill was sent to the second reading.

On the motion of the Rural Affairs Committee, the first reading of the Bill on Amendments to the European Union Common Agricultural Policy Implementation Act (646 SE), initiated by the same Committee, was concluded. The amendments are related to the new implementation regulation passed by the European Commission which establishes detailed implementing rules of the Council Regulation in connection with conformity and redirection of the support paid on the basis of direct support schemes for farmers, and the common administration and control system. In the European Union Common Agricultural Policy Implementation Act, references to the Regulation which was in force are replaced by relevant references to the new Regulation. The Bill was sent to the second reading.
