The alternate member of the Riigikogu Signe Kivi took the oath of office before the Riigikogu.

The reply to one interpellation was heard in the Riigikogu.

Legal Chancellor Allar Jõks replied to the interpellation concerning the conformity of the regulation, passed by the Tallinn City Council and establishing a limit on the amount of rent, with the Constitution and the Dwelling Act, submitted on December 5 by Member of the Riigikogu Toivo Jürgenson.

On the motion of the Economic Affairs Committee the Railways Bill (1257 SE), initiated by the Government of the Republic, was excluded from the agenda for the plenary working week.

Lauri Vahtre, Elmar Truu and Liis Klaar take part in the plenary session of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly on January 25-31, Ülo Tärno takes part in the meeting of the working group of the Convention on the Future of Europe on January 26-28, Tunne Kelam and Liia Hänni take part in the extraordinary conference of the COSAC in Brussels on January 27-28, Anti Liiv, Vladimir Velman, Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Valentina Võssotskaja attend a meeting of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Committees in Vilnius on January 27-28, Andres Tarand takes part in the discussion in connection with elections “Estonia 2003”, organised by the Tuglas Society in Helsinki on January 28 and 29, and Mart Laar takes part in the conference in Budapest “Bridging the New East-West Divide” on January 30 – February 2.
