Riigikogu

His Royal Highness Prince Harry visited Toompea Castle on Friday and met with members of the government and the parliament, as well as with Estonian soldiers who had been wounded in Afghanistan.

“It is a great honour for Estonia that a member of the British royal family came here to meet our soldiers and to thank them in person for their services in Afghanistan,” said the President of the Riigikogu Eiki Nestor in his welcoming address.

Many soldiers whom Prince Harry met and chatted with in the Riigikogu have been treated in the Headley Court clinic in the United Kingdom together with British soldiers. Prince Harry decided to make the two day visit to thank the Estonian nation and the Estonian Defence Forces for their cooperation in Afghanistan.

On Saturday, Prince Harry is visiting the annual spring exercise Kevadtorm (Spring Storm) of the Estonian Defence Forces, where he will meet the President of the Republic Toomas Hendrik Ilves
